Our fruiting bags are part of what separates us from the rest of the market in terms of grow-your-own-mushroom-kits. First, our plastic bags are imported, food-grade plastic specially made for mushroom cultivation, so you can be assured that you will be receiving a sturdy bag that won't leach chemicals into your food or tear easily.
 
You'll receive this bag already inoculated with oyster mushroom spawn, and through the course of around 4-5 weeks you can watch the oyster mushroom mycelia taking over the hardwood substrate inside the bag. Soon you will see the first blooms of oyster mushroom flower, which is the edible part that we harvest and consume!  
 
You'll be amazed to see just how large these grow in the right conditions. Fruiting bags will have at least 3-4 flushes of mushroom flowers, producing a total of around 300-500g of mushrooms if grown properly. The tastiest mushrooms are picked just before they grow very large, and always come from the first two flushes when the mushroom flowers are most tender and not "woody" or stringy. 
 
After the last flush is complete, these bags make EXCELLENT compost. If you have a garden plot or keep a family of potted plants inside your home, you can dispose of the plastic and breakdown the substrate for mixing into the soil.

Storage and Growing Conditions
 
Mushrooms enjoy a space that is cool and humid but has adequate airflow. Indirect sunlight is best for mushroom growth. Keep fruiting bags in a clean area, making sure dust, dander, food and dirt particles are not present in the grow area. Do not handle the bags often as this may damage the mycelia and flowers. Always use clean or gloved hands when harvesting your mushrooms to prevent mold, bacteria, and mildew growth.
