A Mushroom Dream Come True

Boomshroom was made out of a life-long interest in mushroom cultivation by our founder, Vivian Gochoco. As a Cebuano, she grew up knowing how difficult it was to source fresh mushrooms in the marketplace. Most Filipinos only had access to canned mushrooms, which are devoid of freshness, flavor, and rich texture. Because of this, mushrooms were considered an exotic food delicacy. After decades of being fascinated with the science, culinary, and environmental potential of shrooms, Vivian finally put her passion to work and made fresh mushrooms available and accessible to her community of Cebu.

It took several years of scientific progress, failures, setbacks, and breakthroughs until Vivian was finally able to crack the mushroom growing code. Her Boomshroom farm in Barili, Cebu is now capable of making consistent, beautiful, and bountiful harvests of fresh oyster mushrooms.
